Christmas Book Reports

Christmas Book Reports

In December we finished our book reports about a favorite Christmas book. We read the book, completed fact sheets and illustrations on the main character. setting, problem and solution. Then we folded it accordion style and added a boy to make it look like a present. We placed them under the tree to be unwrapped and read to the class.

Our art teacher came in and taught us how to draw Baby Jesus. We used watercolors and then were able to paint salt on the drawings to make them sparkle and add texture. We drew Baby Jesus in his manger with the star shining above.

We colored pictures of Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus. Then we cut paper bags and made the stable. We created the star in the sky the wise men followed and read all about the first Christmas.

Ornament Multiplication

Ornament Multiplication

First, we used our fingerprints and made ornaments with paints. Then, once it dried we practiced multiplication and wrote the multiplication problems in the ornaments. It was fun to practice our multiplication facts!

Santa Writing

Santa Writing

We were able to use Step Up to Writing and create a story about what Santa does on December 26th when he is finished delivering presents. We came up with some exciting ideas for him!
